The person who does PAT testing must be a ‘competent person’ By attending our Preston training course, you can gain the skills, knowledge and practical ability to carry out PAT testing safely and in line with regulations defined in the IET Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Equipment and the HSE.

On the course, candidates can expect to learn both the theory and use of PAT testers in practical applications. This knowledge will then be used to complete a 30 question multiple choice exam.

After the course is successfully completed, candidates will receive a Certificate of Competency that allows you to carry out PAT testing. To earn the certificate, candidates must pass a 30 question, open book examination under supervision and a practical assessment.

One day from 9AM to 4PM in our Bristol training venue, this course is ideally suited for anyone wanting to learn more about PAT testing. No former electrical kowledge is required.
