Is it time to calibrate your tester?
A PAT tester measures resistance and current. Those measurements drift over time, and an instrument that reads slightly wrong will happily pass an appliance that should have failed — which is the one outcome testing exists to prevent.

How often should a PAT tester be calibrated?
Your PAT tester measures resistance and current, so it needs checking at suitable intervals — most manufacturers and the IET Code of Practice say annually. If you cannot remember when yours was last done, it is due.

What does the £65+VAT include?
The calibration itself, collection from you, and insured return carriage — both directions are in the price. There is nothing further to pay at checkout or on return. That is £78.00 including VAT.
Do I get a calibration certificate?
Yes. Your tester comes back with a traceable calibration certificate — that is the document you keep on file, and the reason the readings you record afterwards carry weight.
What happens if my tester fails calibration?
You get a quote to repair it, and you decide whether to go ahead — nothing is done without your agreement. Testers that look finished often are not: one customer sent us a Megger multifunction tester that had stopped taking readings and thought it was gone, and it was still working properly five months after we repaired it.
How long will I be without my tester?
Our turnaround on the bench is typically 3 days, plus courier time each way. If you are working to a deadline, tell us when you book and we will let you know what is realistic.
How do I send it?
Box it up as securely as you can — ideally in its own case inside an outer box. We email you a courier label, so there is nothing for you to arrange or pay for.
Do you also run PAT testing courses?
Yes — one-day UKRS-accredited courses at venues across the UK, on your own site, or live on Zoom. Calibration and training are separate services; you do not need one to buy the other.
