Theory and Presentations

• • Reasons we need to test portable appliances.
  • Basic Electrical Principles.
  • Classes of Electrical Equipment (I,II & III)
  • How to conduct a Visual Inspection. Plug, Cable & Casing.
  • Electrical Tests that are required (Mandatory and Optional.)
  • Earth (RPE), Insulation (RISO), Leakage (ILEAK), Flash and Load.

Mid-Morning

15 minute comfort break. 

Theory and Presentations

• • How to perform Electrical Tests

• • Health and Safety whilst testing.

• • IET Frequency of testing and risk based approach.

• • How to record the results and good record keeping.

• Multiple choice test (TTS Audience Response System)

12.30PM Lunch Break

30 Minute Lunch Break.

Afternoon Session

• • Practical PAT Testing Session

• • Using your PAT tester (if you have one), reinforcing the

• knowledge gained throughout the day.
