Course overview
Who is the on-site course for?
Teams of two or more who want PAT testing done in-house — facilities and maintenance staff, schools, offices, factories, construction, hire companies and more. Nobody needs electrical experience, and we've trained thousands of delegates on their own sites, from the MOD to local workshops.

What your team will learn
Electrical safety, regulations and responsibilities, appliance classes I/II/III, insulation and earthing, earth leakage and run tests, load tests, and how to record results correctly.

How the day runs
Morning theory, then hands-on testing on your own appliances and PAT testers — finishing with a multiple-choice test and practical assessment. Typically 9:00–4:00, adjusted to suit your site.

Frequently asked questions
What areas do you cover for on-site training?
Anywhere. We regularly run courses at client sites across England, Scotland and Wales, and we've delivered courses in Europe for some customers. There's no travel charge in England and Wales; a supplement applies for Scotland and beyond — the instant quote includes it automatically.
What do we need to provide?
A room with a few sockets, and ideally a selection of your own appliances and your PAT tester if you have one — training on your own equipment is the whole point. We bring everything else: trainer, spare testers, handbooks and course materials.
How many people can we train in one day?
Up to 12 learners per course. Up to 6 costs £594+VAT, then £60+VAT per extra learner — the more you train, the less it costs per person.
Do our staff need electrical experience?
No. The course is designed for people with little or no electrical experience, and our pass rates are excellent.
Will everyone get a certificate?
Yes — every learner who passes the multiple-choice test and practical assessment receives a UKRS-accredited Certificate of Competence from TTS, issued within 7–10 days of the course.
Can you adjust the course times?
Yes — the day typically runs 9:00–4:00, but on-site courses can be adjusted around shifts and site hours. Just tell us what works when you book.
What is PAT tester calibration?
Your PAT tester measures resistance and current, so it needs checking at suitable intervals — most manufacturers and the IET Code say annually. We can arrange calibration for you.
